COVID-19 Quarantine Day 34

Good morning, everyone!  I hope you've been having a nice week.  True to my impatient nature and inability to wait, I started planting things in the garden yesterday.  😁  Not a lot, just a 4th row of carrots (Avery planted), a row of onion sets for green onions (Connor planted) and marigold seeds in the strawberry patch (I planted).  It was enough to hold me over for the day, but it won't stop there.  Today I intend to plant my asparagus crowns!  😁😁😁  I'm planting 5 rows!!!  I would have done it yesterday, but they have to soak for 6-8 hours first, so I'm starting them this morning and will put them in the ground this afternoon.  Might plant some more flower seeds today as well.  Actually, since I'm planning on starting a lot of things from seeds, I could probably stay getting several things in the ground today...  We'll see...  😉

Another bit of news, our stimulus check came this morning!  😱  Like this whole coronavirus, stay at home, schooled from home situation, it all seems very surreal and I didn't expect to actually get it!  But, sure enough, it arrived this morning.  Crazy!  So we're padding our savings, putting a little back for our Disney trip (over 40% of the funds saved so far), and we're keeping a little in our joint account to keep it up at a reasonable level.  This is going to sound crazy, but our finances have never been better, even before the stimulus!  It's a relief to finally feel like we have our heads above water.  ❤

Speaking of Disney, I feel like this pandemic will have died down a bit by the time we have our trip planned for, and hopefully, it wil not disrupt the tentative plans we have.  Of course, nothing is booked, so we can easily change plans, but I don't think we'll have to.  Our plan is to take our Disney trip in October 2021.  So we have a year and a half before we leave.  That will put the kids in 2nd and 3rd grade.  We intend to go the week of parent-teacher conferences, so the kids will only miss 3 days of school.  I'm very much looking forward to taking the kids on this once-in-a-lifetime trip!  ❤  It will be their first time riding in an airplane.  It probably won't be their first time in a theme park because we intend to take them to Frontier City in OKC in the summer of 2021 so they can get a taste of what theme parks, roller coasters, and other rides are like.  Avery rode a roller coaster in The Mall of America and is very much looking forward to trying some more!  Connor only got to ride the log ride there because he'd just had his tonsils and adenoids taken out and couldn't do things that jostled him too much.  So he's looking forward to trying those things for the first time.  I'm so excited for them!  ❤

I forgot to mention...  I started trying to harden my pants to go outdoors yesterday!  They spent 2 hours outside!  And by my plants, I mean, my seedlings.  Today we'll try 3 hours!  🤞🤞
