COVID-19 Quarantine Day 20 - Slowing Down

So even though there is more on our plate with having to to the kids' schoolwork at home, me being available to help other students with schoolwork online, sitting in on various meetings digitally, and Michael working from home, it still feels like life has slowed down a lot.  I've put together a daily checklist for the kids to complete which includes their schoolwork.  This is what I did for them last summer and it worked BEAUTIFULLY!  So, in a sense, it already feels like summer.  We're spending more time outdoors, the weather is warming up, the kids are doing their daily "Before Technology" checklists, and things are starting to click together.  I'm actually really enjoying this new set up, for now, with the exception of not being able to see friends and family we normally see on a regular basis.  I miss Friday Night dinner at Grandma Heorman's house and Sunday afternoons in Towanda.  But honestly, I'm ok with cutting the rest out.  I'm grateful for more time to be a stay-at-home wife and mom.

The kids have been outside riding their bikes a lot lately.  I'm soooo proud of Connor and how well he's doing!  He's got it completely figured out without training wheels now!  Now we just need to look into getting him a bigger bike so his knees don't end up hitting the handlebars.  😊

Avery is working hard on her sewing machine this morning.  She'll have a lot more time to work on it in the coming days.  I wish I was a better teacher for her.  If garage sale season actually happens, I'll need to look for some little table for her to put her machine on.  The plastic Playskool table she's using now works for her, but it's almost impossible for me to use.  And I'd like the learn how to use it too.

Riding their bikes back from the mailbox.
Avery helped make bread yesterday.  It ended up a little dense.  We might try again today.  We were almost out of bread and we're staying home for the next couple weeks, so we had to come up with another plan!  Homemade it is!
Michael made "Whipped Coffee" last night!!  You mix 2 tbsp instant coffee, 2 tbsp sugar, and 2 tbsp warm water until it's thick like peanut butter!  Then you dollop it on top of a cup of milk, take some pictures for Instagram 😉, then stir it all together and drink!  It was super tasty!  Michael is thinking we should have a movie night Friday night when Onward comes out on Disney+ and he wants to make these and a chocolate milk version and popcorn and have a family movie night!  Today I'm going to check the capabilities of our projector and I'd the weather cooperates we might watch it on the driveway so our neighbors can enjoy too!  We'll see how it goes!
