COVID-19 Day 228 Pictures Cont.

Ok, trying from the computer to see how many pictures made it to the cloud.  It's easier to upload from the computer.  Let's see what we got...

Lily at 10 weeks!  I didn't get her new pictures taken for this week on Saturday or Sunday, so her 11 week pictures will have to be 11 weeks and 2 days (assuming I actually do them today...  Now I remember what a pain this was doing even monthly pictures for the kids when they were less than a year old!!)

The only pictures I took from out at the farm last weekend.  Isn't she cute!?

Week 2 of our Halloweeny donuts!  Fun spiders!!

Since the kids can't go on field trips right now, thanks COVID, Connor's teacher and the Kindergarten and First Grade teams brought the field trip to the kids!  They brought a petting zoo to the school and kindergarteners also got a mini pumpkin since they missed out on their annual pumpkin patch field trip.  The teachers are working so hard to make this year special for the kids, despite all the restrictions.

Lily at 9 weeks.  I started getting all artsy-fartsy with my pictures.  Oh well, whatever brings you joy, right??

Connor got invited to a playdate at a friend's house.  4 of these kids are homeschooling this year, 4 of these kids are at Sunflower, spread in 3 different classes.  They had so much fun seeing each other and playing together again!  The sweet Mama even let Avery stay to play with Rachel.  Much fun was had by all!  I have a feeling we'll have a lot more pictures of this handsome group of boys as they continue to grow.  <3

Dinner from a food truck rally!  Safely distanced away from others to enjoy.  This was held in the parking lot of the K-State Extension Center where the Kansas Grown Farmer's Market is held.  The garden there is so cool!  I know they're a great community resource, but I've never utilized them before.  I'm hoping for compost bins for my birthday and to seek out some of their help to make my garden even better next year!!

No pumpkin patch this year.  They're too expensive anyway!  We still found good ones!  And, it you check out my other pictures blog, you can see how they turned out!!

Crazy hair day at school!

Alright, I think that's enough for this blog!  I've run into Avery's birthday now (would be the next pictures if I kept going), so I think that should be a blog in and of itself.  But, like I keep saying, I haven't finished our packing for our trip...  Today was the perfect day and I was a bump on a log...  So I really am going to go work on that now.  If I write again tonight, it won't be until AFTER the packing is DONE.  I mean it this time!!

Have a great night!!

Covid-19 Day 228 - Pictures

Ok, a few more random pictures from the last couple weeks and little snippets on what we've been up to...

Our advent calendar for this year came in on Saturday!  Couldn't have arrived on a better day!  The kids are STOKED!  They had so much fun with the Lego HP Advent Calendar last year, when I saw this one online, I just had to get it!!

Avery is doing a book report for school over the story "The Happy Hedgehog".  She also had to make a pumpkin into the main character!  She did fabulous!

Avery made "Fuzzy Friends" with some left over pom poms and googly eyes.  She's going to LOVE all the craft supplies she's getting for Christmas!!!

We voted!!

Got enough stocking holders for the 3 fur babies, 2 skin babies, and 2 adults in our family.  😉😂😁🎄🧦

Bought bear spray for our trip to CO.  Word on the street is that they are very active right now, eating a lot before hibernating.  Better safe, than sorry.

Every Friday in October we go to Dunkin for fun, festive, Halloweeny donuts before school!

She looked so cute I had to take a picture!  This girly is ready for the holidays!

Christmas presents for the Isaac, Jackson, Connor, and Madison!

New school spirit wear!  No, she hasn't stained the shirt or hoodie yet.  Yes, I know it'll happen sooner rather than later.  🤞 Hoping bleach will help...  🤷🏼‍♀️

Probably had enough pictures that I could have made pumpkin carving it's own post, but I didn't...  Oh well!  The kids had very big ideas of what they wanted on their pumpkins.  I had to explain that Michael and I are not the world's greatest pumpkin carvers and that they needed to lower their expectations a little.  I think they turned out great!  All credit goes to Michael!!

Working on her book report pumpkin!

Taking her new hedgehog gloves to school for the first time!!

Grandma Marsha printed some pictures of Avery and Lily from Avery's birthday.  Avery wanted to frame one.  She's such a sweetie!

Alright, my phone has had enough for a bit.  I might try to throw together another post a little later, but for now, gotta get this packing done!  (I was lazier than I intended to be today and didn't finish.  *le sigh*)

Love you!  Later!  Bye!

COVID-19 Day 226 - Harry Potter Mini Marathon

I'm not going to backtrack the last month that I've failed to update the blog, but I will do some.  Once again, sorry it's been so long since I've blogged!  I'll try to do better!  But, if you've followed my blog for any time now, you know, this is kind of how it goes.  It ebbs and flows.  Sometimes there are multiple blogs in a day, other times there are crickets for months.  That's Life with The Vosses.  🤷🏼‍♀️

So we have been reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire with the kids for the last several months.  Last week they finally finished the book, so we made plans to watch the movie!  But when we watch HP movies, we don't simply sit down and watch them!  We make snacks, themed foods, and dress up!  We grab out wands and our stuffed animals and we hunker down to watch every movie, with the last one being the newest one in the group.  This time, the kids were up to movie #4.  So we started watching HP around 8am and finished just before 7pm!  It was quite a day!  Here are some pictures from our fun!

This is the "trolley" from the Hogwarts Express, with all sorts of junk and snacks on it!  Every time the kids were on the train, as well as between movies, I'd say, "Anything off the trolley, Dears?"  That was everyone's cue to go grab a few more snacks off the cart if they wanted.

In the first movie Harry has to make breakfast and bring Uncle Vernon his coffee.  So Saturday morning I told the kids to make breakfast and not burn anything.  I made Connor bring me coffee too before we could start the movies.  🤣  He didn't like me taking pictures, but I eventually convinced him.  😉

Everyone is dressed in their house colors!  We snuggled into comfy spots and got the movies started!

Who'd ever be writing to you?!?

Anything from the trolley, Dears??

Connor got Rowena Ravenclaw (one of the four Hogwarts founders, and original head of Ravenclaw house) in his first chocolate frog!

Ravenclaws stealing my Hufflepuff quilt!  💛🖤💛🦡💛🖤💛

Snuggles!  I help him hide his eyes during the scary parts.  After 4 movies, the only thing that scares him is Professor Quirrel/Voldemort at the end of Movie #1.

Fizzing Whizzbees!

Skele-Gro!

Avery loves candy!  I didn't even limit her on movie marathon day!  She didn't feel super awesome by the end of the day.  Such is life on movie marathon days...  🤢

Dobby!!!

Finally ate the cool chocolate bar someone brought us back from Orlando!

Hagrid's Garden lunch!  We've learned long ago that you need some non-junk on movie marathon days to balance everything out.  These delicious salads REALLY hit the spot!  And there were no complaints from the kids either!  😊

Helga Hufflepuff!  I made the chocolate frogs, boxes, and cards!  They're a very special treat for each marathon!

No Spoilers.  😉

Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans!

Butterbeer!

More Butterbeer!

Starting our last movie for the day!  Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire!!

It was a great day!  Fun was had by all!  Now onto the next book, Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix!  And, conveniently enough, we have a couple very long car rides ahead of us to dive into the audio books!  Fingers crossed we can finish the next 3 books in the next year so the kids will know the whole story before we go to Orlando!  Can't wait!
