COVID-19 Quarantine Day 20

Well, homeschooling officially began yesterday.  I was a little stressed early in the day because Connor and I had Zoom meetings at the same time, and Avery was working on finishing her checklist for the day, then kept wanting to do things that required us to go out, or me to help, and that just wasn't going to be possible while we were both in meetings. Later in the morning things slowed down a bit.  The kids got their work for the day done by 1 or 2 and then they were done for the day.  I ended up doing most of my work in the evening, as I was helping them a lot throughout the day to navigate the computer and their new learning platforms.  They each have choice boards and are expected to complete 3-4 activities/ day.  Today Avery's activities were: Eat a snack outside, Floss, Do a page in her math journal, and Read for 20 minutes (I require 30 minutes anyway).  Connor's activities were, Creating a Life Cycle of a Chicken project, Playing on the online program Reading Eggs for 30 minutes, and Doing a GoNoodle (which is like an indoor recess, move arounds, get the wiggles out, dance video).  Not too hard so far!  I know teachers are keeping this first week light for us.  So far things are manageable.  Hopefully that continues.
