I love making sure my munchkins eat a well balanced diet. I kind of consider it a challenge eat day, especially at lunch time, to get all of the food groups in for them. Today I did it! For lunch today my babies are having:
Protein - Fish sticks (not the most healthy protein, but my kids gobble them up, so I'm going to go with it
Dairy - Milk (They got away from milk for a while, but they're back into it again and I'm back to buying 2-3 gallons/week!)
Grains - Granola bar (Yes, I know they're loaded with sugar too, but they're small and DO have whole grains in them. Maybe this week the kids and I can make homemade ones!)
Fruit - 1/2 banana (They won't last all week, so when I can, I try to split the bananas between them to make them last longer)
Veggies - Corn and Green Beans (When I asked them what veggies they wanted with lunch, Connor wanted corn and Avery wanted green beans. So I mixed them together.)
Not bad, huh?! Michael and I both like when we can get everything in. We're awful proud to have such healthy kiddos and good eaters! :)
We haven't gotten out of the house to go anywhere today. I thought about taking them to the park here in the neighborhood, but they wanted to watch a Christmas Movie together, so we did that instead. It's been a nice quiet day together! Two are sooooo much easier than four! Very much enjoying my first day off!
