Pregnancy Update - 35 Weeks

How far along:  35 weeks today!!  Can't believe we have 35 (or less) days to go!  Can't wait to meet Connor!!  :D

Due date:  May 9th, 2014

Next doctor's appointment:  April 16th, our last 2 week appointment, then we go down to weekly appointments!  We'll also have our Group B Strep test done that week.  Don't remember anything about the test from when I was pregnant with Avery, must not be anything to worry about.  ;)

Our baby is the size of a veggie/fruit/food:  Honeydew Melon or a Coconut.  Still seems so small!  I forget that when they're born, they're so tiny.  He's going to seem so little compared to Avery.  Glad they don't come out that big.  ;)

Our baby in man terms:  Miniature Schnauzer or a Ukulele

Total weight gain/loss:  +19.2 lbs.  Normally I weigh myself first thing in the morning before I've eaten anything.  I forgot today, so this week's number could be a little skewed to be higher.  We'll see what next week reveals.  ;)

News:  My platelets are still over the 100k mark!  Woohoo!  My blood pressure wasn't as high this week either.  :)  My doctor told me to stop worrying myself by researching symptoms on the internet, lol.  Keeping those platelets over 100k is the goal and my epidural is the reward!  ;)  *fingers crossed*

Best moments this week:  A good doctor's appointment.  :)  With my platelets in that iffy range, it's nice to hear good news that they have stopped dropping.  I also got my fast labor and delivery playlist done, just need to upload it to my ipod.  Now I need to begin putting the slow one together...  As always, I love all of Connor's movements.  :)  This week he seems to be a little on the lower side, giving me more opportunities to take a deep breath.  :)

Milestones:  We hit 35 weeks today!  :D  We have one more 2 week appointment and then we're in the home stretch with weekly appointments!  I'm looking forward to the weekly appointments and having data on how dialated and effaced I am.  Hopefully those numbers will give me some indication of when Connor might choose to make his appearance.  ;)

Symptoms:  Heartburn, shortness of breath, difficulty bending and rolling over, ever growing abdomen

Maternity clothes?  Yup!

Stretch marks?  Yup!  A few of the stretch marks from Avery are growing a little, but for the most part things are still looking pretty good.  Crossing my fingers that they don't get too much worse...  5 weeks to go...

Belly Button in or out?  In!  The skin around my belly button is getting tight, but I still don't think it's going to poke out.

Movement:  Tons!  Connor is so much like his sister already.  He LOVES laying and kicking on my left side!  When I lay down at night I'm all lopsided because he prefers to burrow into my left side.  :P  Silly little boy!  Avery prefered my left too.  ;)

Gender:  Our little man, Connor Michael Voss

Sleep:  I get up 1-3 times/night for heartburn or to use the bathroom.  I can usually get to sleep pretty easily when I get back to bed.  Side note, funny story from this morning, Michael leaned over to hit the snooze button on his alarm clock.  Instead of returning to his back so I could lay my head on his shoulder again, he stayed on his side.  My giant belly does not allow for my to spoon with my husband in this way, lol, but I tried anyway.  I was entirely uncomfortable and (in my half asleep, half awake state) got really mad at him.  :P  I threw my covers at him, rolled over, and got comfy on my other side snuggling a pillow.  ;)  That'll teach him to mess with me!  :P

Food cravings:  Sweets, fried food, salty stuff, milk or dairy, soda (basically all the bad stuff, lol)

Food aversions:  Not much, almost anything sounds good.  Especially right now when I haven't had breakfast and EVERYTHING sounds good!  :P

What I miss:  A normal figure, I'd forgotten how it feels to be this big at the end of pregnancy.  I'm looking forward to summer produce, healthy eating, and maybe some exercise when Connor gets here to help me get back into a reasonable shape.  That's the goal anyways...

What I'm loving:  Knowing that my little guy is safe and sound and moving happily inside me.  We got the last couple of things that we needed for him, so as soon as they get put away I think we'll be ready.  Still need to finish packing that hospital bag...

What I'm looking forward to:  Finally going into labor.  The countdown is great and all, but I'm looking forward to that moment of certainty knowing that it's about to happen and that we are about to have our son.  :)  I'm also looking forward to seeing who Connor looks like.  :)  Since we already have a blond-headed baby who looks like her Mama, I'm hoping Connor will look like his Daddy with dark hair and eyes.  :)  We'll see!!

Thoughts and feelings about Michael:  Michael is always a big help to me in day to day life.  I appreciate all the help he's giving me with Avery during these last several weeks of pregnancy.  I also appreaciate his help with the housework.  He does it all.  Even after a long day at work, he comes home and helps me.  He's so selfless.  He appeals right to my Acts of Service love language.  I feel so loved and cared for.  He's my hero!  I'm so in love with this AMAZING man!  I can't wait to see him with his son for the first time.  It will be the beginning of something incredible!

Thoughts and feelings about Avery:  I love this little girl so very much!  She's so smart, and getting smarter every day.  She makes my heart swell with pride and love and adoration.  :)  I'm crazy about her.  I can't wait to give her a little brother and to see her grow into an amazing young lady.  She's my world.  It's hard to believe that I'll have another kiddo taking over my world in this same way in just 5 short weeks.  :)  I can't wait.

Labor signs:  Braxton Hicks, sometimes a little more uncomfortable than others.  Getting anxious for the pelvic exams to see how dialated and effaced I am!  :)

Goals:  Get the house ready in time for Alia's party on Sunday!

Weekly Wisdom:  The 2nd pregnancy is tougher.  Take care of yourself the 2nd time around.  ;)  Ask for help.
