Alrighty, the moment you've all been waiting for... Here's how our appointment went yesterday... :)
My weight was good, tracking right where it needed to be. Gaining slightly, but not an extreme amount. It's always kind of amazed me, my weight has always stayed pretty consistant through my pregnancies. Yes, of course, it always goes up, but it's steady. It doesn't yo-yo like it can when I'm not pregnant. According to my home scale I still haven't passed my all time highest weight (that I reached when I was pregnant with Avery), but I'm just a pound or two off. I'm sure I'll get there (and surpass it) soon. Either way, so far I've put on less than 20 lbs, and I think that's pretty stellar for 34 weeks of pregnancy!! ;)
My blood pressure was a little high 2 weeks ago. This week it was still slightly elevated, but not as much as 2 weeks ago. It might have been back down to normal yesterday if I hadn't been so stressed about finding out what my platelet levels were. :P Either way, my doctor wasn't concerned with this week's reading. He did comment that it was a little higher 2 weeks ago, but wasn't worried about it. :) Another good sign, I suppose. :)
Connor's heartrate was 136 bpm. Almost exactly the same number it's been the entire pregnancy. :) Michael asked the nurse if the heartrate tends to change much towards the end. She said that it usually slows down just a little at the end. Guess I'm not as close to the end as I like to think, lol, because his heartrate is staying pretty consistant. :P But a good heartrate makes me a happy Mama! I love knowing my little guy is doing well. :)
My urine dip was normal. This was something I was a little worried about. I was relieved to hear that there was no protein or sugar problems. When I heard that my platelets were low 2 weeks ago I began researching things online. High blood pressure, low platelets, and protein in the urine can all be signs of HELLP syndrome or preeclampsia. I forgot to bring my urine sample 2 weeks ago, so I had convinced myself that something was wrong but since they didn't have all the information, they couldn't diagnose it or tell me. That'll teach me to look to the internet for medical advice...
My doctor measured my belly at 35 weeks, which is all but right on schedule (I was actually 34 weeks and 4 days). Maybe he'll come early!! ;) I've been hoping that he'll come on the Monday (5th), Wednesday (7th) or Friday (9th) of the week he's due. The 5th would be awesome because then Michael's, Avery's, and Connor's birthdays would all be on the 5th of their months. The 7th would be cool too because then Michael and Avery's birthdays would be on the 5th and Connor's and my birthdays would be on the 7th. I would also be very happy with the 9th because that's his due date and the date I've been thinking of throughout the entire pregnancy. ;) Mostly I just want him to wait until May to get here. This means I need him to stay put for another 28 days. :P Shouldn't be too tough, right?? ;) I read something online that said most babies are born at 41 weeks, 1 day. I know I won't go that far! Thank you, low platelets! :P
Speaking of platelets, I got my counts back at my appointment yesterday. My platelets were at 103,000. Again, the normal range is 150,000-450,000. Mine have always been low. I've never seen them at or above 150 in either pregnancy. This isn't a big deal unless they fall under 100. So that's the goal and the number I'm trying to stay above (although I have no control what-so-ever on my platelet count). 2 weeks ago I was at 102. This week 103. Not much change, but still over 100! I have orders to get my blood drawn again, but think I'll wait until the day before my next appointment again to get it done. It means another trip for me, but it's quick, and then we have the results for my appointment the next day. So if something dramatic should happen with them, we can discuss options and treatments the following day at my appointment.
That's about all I have to report. The appointment went well. Connor and I are both doing well and staying healthy. We're looking at 37 days (or less) now until he's due. I can't wait! It will be here before I know it, I'm sure! :)
The other thing I meant to blog about this morning (and I'll keep it short) was about the weird dreams I've been having lately. :P The first dream was a couple nights ago when I dreamed we all got Alia the same gift for her shower (that's coming up this Sunday), then our district manager made us stay after our Sunday shift and clean for over 3 hours until he was happy with how the store looked. My other dream was mostly about our basement, which was huge! It had 4 bedrooms, all of them were big enough to hold a queen-sized bed, but two rooms actually held two queen sized beds! There were also two bathrooms in the basement, one of which was huge, featuring a shower that held at least 3 people, a big bathtub, and a shower out in the open that shot water out of the ceiling. We had three people living down there and they were all thankful for a place to live. I told them I was glad the basement was getting used, lol. Go ahead and interpret my dreams, if you dare. ;)
That's all I've got for the moment. Thanks for checking in and reading what's going on in our family and home. I'll keep you updated as we approach Connor's arrival! :) Happy Wednesday! :D
