Recipes Again!

Sorry I haven't been writing about cooking lately.  Frankly, I haven't been cooking because my kitchen has been a disaster and I haven't gotten around to cleaning it.  But this week my wonderful hubby has been helping me clean the whole apartment, including the kitchen.  So now that things are back in order, I've been cooking again!  Here's what I've been up to!

Kippy Burgers
This recipe came from a guy at the fire station.  You mix a pound of ground beef with barbeque sauce, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.  Sorry I don't have measurements, I just throw a little of this and a little of that it.  Maybe I'll try to measure it next time.  Once you've mixed your ingredients, for the meat into patties and grill.  They have a great flavor!

Marinated Grilled Chicken
This isn't so much a recipe as a marinade recommendation.  I marinated a pound of boneless skinless chicken breasts in the Dillons brand 30 minute marinade (Caribbean Jerk flavored).  I thought I was going to make these on Wednesday night, but didn't end up making them until Thursday evening.  They ended up marinating for over 30 hours, and still tasted great after I grilled them.  Since we don't have a grill anymore I grilled these and the burgers on the George Foreman.

Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup
Michael was sick this week, so I made him some chicken noodle soup.  I used the frozen turkey broth I had from Thanksgiving, made egg noodles (Grandma Counterman's recipe using eggs and flour), and added some frozen veggies.  There wasn't much to it, but I think it helped Michael to feel better.

I know none of these were actual recipes, but I was actually cooking this week and it was nice to be back in the kitchen.  It will be nice to have a bigger kitchen someday to do my cooking in.  Just a couple more months!
