Big 12 Tournament and KC Weekend

Sorry I've been slacking off lately!  Here's what's been going on:

Michael and I went to the Big 12 Tournament in KC last weekend.  I got tickets for an arm and a leg and we managed to be sitting 2 rows from the top.  :)  However, there are no bad seats in the Sprint Center.  We got to watch 2 different games with our tickets, it just worked out right that we got to watch KU and K-State.  The KU game was nerve wracking (we were cheering them to lose, sorry KU fans, we didn't want to have to play them again!), but they ended up pulling it out.  After the game I noticed a lot of KU fans leaving, not wanting to watch the K-State game.  So we went downstairs, and as people were leaving, asked for their ticket stubs.  A couple graciously gave us theirs, telling us they weren't too great, as they were in the corner.  However, when we got to the seats we were very happy!!  We ended up in the corner, on the 12th row!  We were behind the Colorado bench.  It was much better to watch the K-State game from so close!  We weren't impressed with the atmophere of the Sprint Center.  We much prefer a fired up home crowd to a neutral setting.  However, despite our best cheering, the Cats couldn't pull it out.  Colorado seems to have our number.  Luckily that was the last game we'll have to play against them.

The rest of the weekend we stayed in KC enjoying some time off.  We went to the Melting Pot (a fondue resteraunt) for dinner on Thursday.  We did shopping on the plaza and around Nebraska Furniture Mart on Friday.  Instead of going out to dinner on Friday we grabbed some fast food (a place called Culvers, I think???) and went back to our hotel to relax and watch some basketball.  Even though we were on a mini-vacation, I still couldn't stay awake much later than 8:30.  I'm getting to be such an old lady!!  On Saturday we did a little more shopping in the Legends area, before heading out of town.  We stopped in Lawrence for lunch with Nick and Maggie and did a little shopping on Mass Street.  Then, when we were done there, we went back to Topeka to see our puppy and my wonderful in-laws who agreed to puppysit while we were out of town.  Harlee had been good while we were gone.  We spent Saturday evening there in Topeka, then went back to Manhattan on Sunday.  It was a very nice and relaxing weekend!!

Coming back to work wasn't too easy.  And I learned that some of my kids were not on their best behavior while I was gone.  That made yesterday a rough day.  Today has been much better.  Only 3 more work days until Spring Break!  (Which will probably just be here in Manhattan since we've been traveling all over the place lately.)

Hope all is well with you!
