Almost Done with Conferences!!

I have a half day more of conferences to go!  The kids' last day of school this week was yesterday.  I have conferences this morning from 8 until noon, then I'm free until Monday!!  I only have about 5 parents I still need to confer with, so it shouldn't be too bad of a day.

This weekend we're going to Wichita to visit Sis and Adam, celebrate Mama's birthday, and go to Amy's baby shower.  I think we also might be hanging out with Cathy on Saturday night if the idea sounded okay to Mama and Sis and Adam as well.  Should be a packed weekend, but I'm glad to be going home again.

Michael had his second job interview with Vech Tech yesterday.  He said it went well and he felt confident about it.  The way we figured it, they were probably interviewing between 6 and 10 people for the 2 positions that they have available.  I don't know if they were going to other schools to interview for these positions as well.  Now we just sit and wait to hear back from them.  One thing I thought was interesting and also a little sad was when Michael asked the interviewers what there was to do in Emporia because he hadn't been there before, they nervously laughed and explained that Emporia is a great place for people who like to make their own entertainment...  Great...

Also, I think I have perfected my oatmeal recipe!  I've been eating oatmeal for breakfast the last few weeks because it really keeps me full until lunch.  I think I've perfected my recipe.  Here's what I do:  Combine 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup water, and 1/2 cup skim milk in a bowl.  Microwave for 1 minute.  Remove from microwave, add a healthy dash of cinnamon, 1 packet of sweet and low, and a hearty squirt of no-sugar maple syrup.  Stir everything together, then microwave another 45 seconds.  Enjoy!  I might start adding fruit if I get some from the store, but this is a great base recipe!  Yum!  Enjoy!

That's about all I have...  I'll try to get Michael to post about K-State's recent climb and how we pulled our heads out of the gutter after Freddy and Wally left.  He'll be much more insightful than I will.  :)  Have a great day!  Love ya!!
