Sleep and One Month Birthday!

Well, Avery has decided that she's ready to let us sleep at night.  :)  We have had some really great nights this past week.  It all started with a couple of nights getting 6.5 hours of sleep.  Or that's how much she got anyway.  It's harder for us to fall asleep right at 9pm when we put her to bed, but we're still getting a decent amount of sleep.  :)  Then, after a couple nights getting 6.5 hours, the night that Daylight Savings hit, she decided to add an extra hour and then some!  That night she got 8 hours of uninterupted sleep!!  Then, last night, she slept for a good 7.5 hours without getting up!!  It's so exciting that she's actually sleeping!!  Michael hasn't had to get up with her in the middle of the night for several nights now.  This is leaving him much more rested and ready for work each day.  I'm home with her and can sleep in if I need to, so I don't mind getting up once a night.  Especially since I get a good chunk of sleep before she gets up anyway!  :)  Hoooray!!!!  We have to celebrate those little victories, but I would say that big chunks of sleep are more than just little victories!  :)  What a blessing!!

In other news, Avey Baby is 1 month old today!!  I cannot believe time has gone by soooooo fast!!!!  Seems like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital.  Trying to figure out what she needed and how to take care of her.  We've come a long way in a month!

In her first month of life, Avery:
-rolled over from her tummy to her back (only a couple times, not consistently yet)
-slept for 6-8 hour long stretches at night
-has been to a wedding and reception (that she slept right through)
-has been to church every Sunday (5)
-goes shopping 1-3 times per week
-has received lots of puppy kisses (especially on the feet)
-likes to sleep with her arms up over her head (like she's signaling for a touchdown)
-is almost out of her newborn cloth diapers
-has moved from newborn to 0-3 month clothes
-is eating great, usually takes 4-6 oz at a time
-has cheered the Wildcats to MANY victories (football- beat KU,  beat Iowa State, beat West Virginia, beat Texas Tech, beat Oklahoma State, and basketball- beat Washburn, and beat Emporia), in fact, the K-State football team and men's basketball team have both gone undefeated since Avery has been born.  ;)

Can't believe time has gone by so fast.  :)  Can't wait to see what we're in store for with the rest of her life.  The first month was amazing, I bet the rest will be just as great!  :)

Life is good.  :)  Happy 1 month, baby girl.  :)
